POLICE are hunting two men who tried to steal a bike from some teenagers in Southampton.

They approached a 15-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy outside Chamberlayne Leisure Centre on Weston Road and demanded they hand over a bicycle.

The elder boy managed to escape on the bike and left to get help while the 15-year-old was punched and left with a split lip, but nothing was taken.

One of the attempted robbers is described as white, around 19-years-old, 5ft 10ins tall, of medium built with short blonde hair with a fringe and wearing a blue waterproof coat, dark blue baggy jeans and carrying a shoulder bag.

The other was white, around 20-years-old, 5ft 6ins tall, skinny, with dark curly hair covering his ears and wearing a grey beanie hat, grey jumper and grey jogging bottoms.

The incident took place at around 6.15pm on Saturday, June 7, and anyone with information should contact DC Martin Timmis at Bitterne Police Station on 101 or via hampshire.police.uk/internet/do-it-online/online-forms/message-for-officer.html.
