Opportunity to build country houses on estate land

First published in News

A RARE opportunity to build two country houses has arisen on the Grange Estate, home of the Baring family near Alresford.

Planning permission has been granted for two homes off Rectory Lane, Itchen Abbas.

The surrounding countryside is so stunning that the joint selling agents BCM and Knight Frank commissioned an aerial video. As a result a website rectorylane-itchenabbas.co.uk has been created for potential purchasers.

Alastair Wilson, of Sutton Scotney-based BCM, said: “This opportunity is incredibly exciting and allows a purchaser to immediately start building and to put their own mark on the property. Such opportunities are few and far between in such a stunning position.”

BCM and Knight Frank are inviting offers in excess of £1,550,000 for the freehold of the larger 17-acre site for the ‘Upper House’ and in excess of £800,000 for the two-acre ‘Flint House’.

No objections to building these homes??
I thought that Alresford residents were against any building of homes in their parish .
I wonder why these have been accepted.?
