POLICE are hunting thieves who stole a car before dumping it and setting it on fire.

The burning car was reported to the emergency services at 4am this morning.

Fire crews and police rushed to the scene at Clausentum Road, Southampton but the abandoned Volkswagen Golf was completely destroyed by the blaze.

Nobody was injured.

Officers think the vehicle was stolen and are treating the incident as suspicious.
